i really need some help on increasing my speed and explosiveness. its not like im in bad shape. i have great stamina. i run 2-5 miles a day, but thats only long distance. im slow on sprints and need a fast way to build up my speed and explosiveness in the field. any suggestions?

Your focusing to much on long distance. By doing this it helps slow twitch muscles. To get faster you have to sprint. Which builds fast twitch muscle.

also keep in mind distance running makes you lose muscle mass

Hate to say it hornetz, but you are wasting your time. Go to Jon Doyle's website, www.baseballtrainingsecrets.com and look up his articles on speed training. Read all the other articles there also, they are good and have taught me a lot.
