our pitchers always do a series of tubing excercises before they throw. we also do a series of what we call "can" excercises after we throw. these are tennis ball cans filled with sand - two and half pound dumbbell be the same thing. theres several sources where you can find descriptions of these excercises. leo mazzone's book has the excercises the braves pitchers do with these 2and half pound dumbbells. all of these pitching websites have their versions of tubing and rotator cuff excercises. just find a program and use it. our pitchers all have a tube and a can. i believe these excercises along with our long toss program have contributed to our high number of complete games and having no arm injuries or major soreness.

I'm a 20 year old pitcher. Anyone know what tubing I should get and where I can order it online preferably so that the shipping doesn't cost twice as much as the thing itself? Thanks.

The tubing is called Theraband. Search on line and you can find many places that sell it. Several years ago y son had gotten a kit specifically for baseball throwing that included handles, tubing, a grip ball. Its a great way to exercise indoors and when you travel

oates specialties.com in texas has good tubing for pitchers. The athletis pitcher .com has about 10 or 12 very good tubing exercises to do for your arm, both pitchers and position players.
