For a position player, are doing push ups and core work enough? Or should I be lifting weights as well? Bench press? Thanks

Are you running? Age? Experience working out? Any goals? What kind of push-ups are you doing? Think of lifting weights as heavy exercise - the main thing they can do is decrease the time involved in exercise. Herschel Walker never lifted weights and he played football in the 80's I believe, but it is said that he did 1,000 push-ups a day. I think back in the day that Frank Robinson (going on 600 homers)did 300 push-ups a day. How many are you doing?
