What is the best way to work out in the offseason? I have a workout plan but I am considering revising it because of what I have seen. I know it's all about fast twitch fibers and building explosiveness but would it be more beneficial to increase power first then to turn those slow twitch muscle fibers into fast ones?
I am talking about doing something such as the Russian Lifting program which tries to increase the 1RM for a couple months. Then as the season approaches, work with less weight but more explosiveness in reps of 4-6. Opinions are appreciated.

No, build fast twitch but continue to add weight. Speed strength is key. just add like 5 lbs to the lift every workout and go from there
