quote: Be careful with any supplements, as some you might be taknig now might be illegal by ncaa or MLB. Also with any supplement taking do the research first and also keep in mind that becuase it worked for some people, it might or might not work for you. the best stuff i ever took that worked for me was Betagen by EAS.
It's ironic that you mention this. Certainly while steroids are not allowed to be in any supplements, some companies have been known from time to time to slip steroids into the first batch of their products to get word of mouth of how great the product is and then remove the compound in second batch, which will be the batch that ends up getting tested by the time word gets around. This doesn't happen often, but has been rumored to on a few occassions, with Betagen being one of them. You might have gotten the spiked batch.

How often does this happen? because a kid at my school got some Xplode in 2005 (my freshman year) he was a senior and went from 185 to 230 in a matter of about 7-8 weeks. It was now fat because the kid is 5'6" and he can squat 480 12 times and it would bend the 45 pound bar he put it up like a cup cake. It was nuts. But he claims it was his supps and the gain he had never happened again. Now i know what the side effects and effects of steroids, my family 50% doctors and they explain it unbelievably. Now at the time i wasnt near interested in weights so i didnt think about it.

TRhit: I agree that it's better to do things naturally. The exception would be taking multi-vitimans (Centrum for example) along with Flax-seed oil and then along with a supplement like something that is a high-potency amino acid formulation designed to support muscle strength and structure and lastly a Whey Protein shake sounds pretty harmless taken before & after a workout. Do you agree with that assessment? Thanks in advance!

I need to correct you on one point. The creatine has been removed from a list of what colleges (NCAA only) can GIVE. The key word is "GIVE". Players can take creatine and whatever protein and multi-vitamin/multi-minerals, & other legal supplements they want. College trainers CANNOT provide creatine. Anyway, the protein limitations are good for those that don't follow directions and don't know how to determine how much protein they need based on body weight calculations and age, and needs.

Good point....and it's also generally expensive because it is mainly marketed to college institutions in final form making it way over the top cost-wise. I notice that Stanford has a HUGE advertisment for it on their web-site.

Jon...What do you think of "Mass Recovery"? My son's trainer has been giving him one bottle to drink after his 2-hour workout twice a week. The website is https://www.Americanbodybuilding.com . My son takes no other supplements.
