is there any way to slow it down without dying?! lol i know this sounds really off the wall but i am still 160 pounds since my junior year (now a senior) its getting real annoying. Do i get people out? yes. Have I been effective this fall? Against every team but the dirtbags (surprise!). but i only throw 80. Im trying to build up my legs and my chest and my arms and core and everything and i take protein shakes but i just cant gain any weight. whats the deal?!

Sadly Metabolism is one thing that cannot be sped up legally and safely without causing harm to the rest of your body.

If you walk into your Doctor's Office he'll tell you straight up there's nothing he can do. Think of how many people would love to have their metabolism altered, if it could be done there would be no overweight people or underweight people.

You can always check out the good ol' GNC but I'd be really careful though if you go this route

It is possible to alter your metabolism a little bit but usually not slowing it down. Eating more smaller meals throughout the day can help speed the metabolism up.

Taking protein shakes isn't a panacea. You need to be taking in calories all day long in addition to your protein shake. I would also cut any cardio or aerobic work you are doing.

I know people who have been in the same situation as you and when they really got completely dedicated and changed their lifestyle they were able to add some weight. Some could only add 20 pounds but they added weight. If you aren't eating a large breakfast, lunch, and dinner in addition to 2 or 3 healthy snack during the day in addition to your protein shakes, then you haven't done enough to really try to put on weight.
