I have been out of baseball for a little more than two years. Due to a poor experience with a coach, I allowed it to ruin the game which I really loved. Since then, I've fallen drastically out of shape (6'1", 265lbs).
I plan to work extremely hard to return to a proper baseball physique and kick, what I hope to be a career in baseball, back into gear.
If anyone has a reference to someone I may contact or anything they could help with themselves for rebuilding the physical blocks to be able to perform properly. i.e. Weight loss, cardio, arm strength, dieting...things of that nature...I would be hugely appreciative.
Thanks, Tyler

Pickles, I'm not sure where Springfield is, but is it a large enough area where you have access to athletic trainers? Some physical therapists also specialize in training and could tailor a program for your needs. Check with some players or coaches in your area or post where you are and then some posters might be able to give you specific ideas.

Springfield, (Missouri) has trainers for these things, I've actually contacted two that I could find. Neither of the two said they would be able to help me unless I were to sign on as a client of theirs. However, I don't have the money. Struggling to save enough to be able to live decently in college...I'm hoping to gather the necessary information without having to pay a physical trainer.

Books. I have Complete Conditioning for Baseball. There's another one called 52-Week Baseball Training which I don't have. If you go to a book store, go to the sports section, there should be plenty of books on training, many of them specifically for sports. Good luck.

Mark - Also, have you done a search on HSBBW? In the past, there have been many assorted threads on various parts of conditioning - you might find something specific pertaining to your position as well. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how things go for you.
