I was wondering if anyone has personal experience in using them. I am very interested in success or failure stories.

To make a long story short, the thought is that chains increase the load through a repetition allowing for the development of speed (fewer chains, less weight at beginning of rep, higher speed) and power (lifting more chains at end of rep means an increased weight at the point it is needed).

Before you naysayers say a word, if I were sold on it I wouldn't be asking the question. I'm not selling it either as from what I can see, you can go to Home Depot or Lowes, buy some chains and essentially drape them over a bar. No secret patented technology there! So I'm just asking.

Chains are great, when used properly. If someone is new, or even intermediate, to weight training chains are not necessary.

Accessory items such as chains are introduced at an advanced level. Before then they simply are not needed.

With that said they can be very beneficial for athletes, especially baseball players. We use them with our advanced NCAA, minor leageu and MLB players.
