Anyone have any insight on dynamic vs. static streching? References would be greatly appreciated.

I ordered the dynamic speed and strength training system from Athletes Acceleration a year ago. The best money I have ever spent for my players. Tremendous gains in agility and speed. Dynamic stretching vs static stretching there is no comparison. I am not affiliated with these people in anyway other than I ordered the product and it works. www.AthletesAcceleration.com

Both forms of stretching are beneficial, the key is when you use them.

Dynamic range of motion work should be used pre-practice/game/workout.

Static stretching should be used post-practice/game/workout.

A combination of the two on off days can be used to enhance recovery and tissue regeneration.

We use static stretching not only as a recovery tool, but pre-game as well for corrective reasons. Baseball players are inherently tight in their hip flexor complex, so performing hip flexor stretching, coupled with glute complex activation work will prep the body for the ranges of motion it will need out of that joint during explosive movements performed in the game. Everything has a time and a place, don't jump on the FAD WAGON.
