Right now i am not very flexible judging just on trying to touch my toes from sitting on the ground. I am ordering the tuff cuff program in late september but was wondering if you guys could give me some exercises to improve my overall flexibility including hips and shoulder.

Welcome Nick.

Go take a Yoga class at your gym (if you are a member at one...or go find one). You can also go purchase a yoga book, but going to a class with help will do wonders.

The best class you can take is Bikram Yoga and they do it in an elevated temperature room. A friend of mine says it is the best workout he has ever done!

Nick,

A good idea is to do some progressive stretches immmediately AFTER you work out(this is very easy to overlook because most folks figure when they are done working out, they are done for the day). You can find a book of the stretching routines at just about any library; I bet that you will find that your flexibility improves quite quickly if you are otherwise fully warmed up.

From what I have observed, the thing about improved flexibility is that it requires a continued commitment and gradual is almost always better. In other words, better to do some every day, than try to do a lot once or twice a week.
