Hows your control though? Is it good? Can you throw any pitch you want on any count and know it's gonna be a strike? (Not many can.. but the average MLB pitcher can throw 60%)

Anyways.. I'd say throw bullpens and work on getting your velocity to be consistant. Your not going to get consistant velocity by sitting on a coach, or running.. or long tossing.. you'll get it by practicing it. And how do we do that? We pitch off of a mound (and not half arsed either). I'm talkin about 100% intensity.

Hope this helps Smile

When having trouble controlling velocity, it usually comes down to a) balance b) repition c) your lower body must engage! d) focusing on the down-hill plane. aka.. getting on top of the ball.

And about that balance thing. When you stride out to full length, if you have a hard time striding out to full length and throwing over a braced front leg. Some people think thats poor balance, because that's what it looks like because you'll be throwing and you'll be falling off the side of the mound. It's not balance, it's because your mid section is weak.

Now if your having problems loading your weight on your back leg... well, you shouldn't... it's pretty easy

Big Lefty,

Concentrate on consistency in your delivery. Work on staying fluent and keeping good timing between the hips and the arm. The better you can time the two of these the harder you will throw consistently. Not near as easy to do as it is to say... Good Luck

It's more than definately a mechanic consistency problem. Whne you play catch and long toss focus on repreating you delivery the exact same way for each toss. Same w/ bullpen sessions.
