Coach at Coastal Carolina asked son if he wanted to play in the Alaska League next summer. He says it's one of the best. Anyone know anything about it?

I'm curious about the Jayhawk League. My son has been placed with the Nevada Griffons.
Any info regarding this league, this team, host family experiences, travel (lots of bus time, I hear), surprise expenses, life in Nevada, etc., would be appreciated.
Anyone out there have knowledge of the Jayhawk League?

Most of the colleges get their players into the summer leagues. If your college does not send their players to summer teams, you can contact the teams on your own. I would think that the stronger leagues would be difficult to get into without a strong school support.
* There are some leagues that are supported by the NCAA and there are several others which are not recognized by NCAA, but provide various levels of competition over the summer.

My son will be playing in the FCSL. I know these teams fill quickly. http://www.floridaleague.com I'm happy I get to see him in the summer. He won't be too far from home.

Thanks for the links. Looking forward to summer ball and we haven't even had our first season of college ball! Son did hear that the Griffons have a team bus... no long drives to get himself to out-of-town games. Also, its close enough to home that we might see him a few times! Just thankful he's playing ball and happy.
