AABC with its Connie Mack division seems to be crowding out American Legion in our area (Phoenix metro).
Is that local thing or is it happening everywhere?
In our household, we are a ways from amking any choices on this.
What are the advantages of one over the other?

The Legion team members are geographically limited while connie mack isn't. In our area connie mack has been a lot more competitive for a long time.

I have to admit that back when I was in HS Legion was the place to play but now at least here in South Florida it's pretty much dead.

Now I run both AABC Mickey Mantle & Connie Mack Summer League & State Tournaments and let me tell you, you can't find a better league anywhere. Well let me correct myself at least here in South Florida it's not an easy road to the State Tournament.

1. Florida Legends (2 Time WS Final Four)
2. Florida Bombers (No.1 ranked team in the country)
3. Florida Pokers (Top Ranked Team in the Country)
4. Miami Powerhouse (Veteran Connie Mack Program)
5. All American Prospects (Umder-Armour Franchiese Team)
6. Homestead Storm (2009 State Runner-Up and 2009 Regional Runner-Up)

That's only your bigger names but there is other programs that are just as good and can beat you any day.

I for one was a big fan of Legion Ball but unfortunatly my friend at least here in South Florida it's pretty much dead but good old Post 142.

Here in northern California, the Connie Mack teams are generally much stronger than Sr. Legion teams, and the Mickey Mantle teams are much stronger than Jr. Legion. AABC has a great model for their various leagues, and it gives a player the best opportunity for quality baseball, as far as I'm concerned.

Legion is king in Montana. I suspect the reason is that the sheer size of the state makes it more difficult to put together teams of kids from different towns. The towns are simply too far apart. You just don't have high concentrations of kids like to do in Florida or the Phoenix area.
