I have heard of a lot of really good programs, and my apologies to those I leave out of this list. I am only listing the programs we have played over the past 10 years (no particular order):
1. Bayside Yankees (NY) 2. Brooklyn Youth Service (NY) 3. South Troy Dodgers (NY) 4. VBC Barnstormers (VA) 5. East Cobb Yankees (GA) 6. Dulins Dodgers (TN) 7. Jackson 96er's (MS) 8. Bill Hood Broncos (LA) 9. Grand Slam Diamonds (DE) 10. Maryland Orioles (MD)
I have been out of the game for 3 years, so my information is a little dated. I'll add a plug for my program, the Columbia Reds (MD). We have been around since 1987, and other than me, the same core coaching staff since that time. The head coach the last 3 years was my top assistant when I was the head coach. We have had the priviledge of having lots of great players play for us over the years, and we have worked hard to get them to play in college.
I am most familiar with the 17-18 versions of these programs, but they seem to be pretty strong top to bottom.

That's a great list. Not sure which age group you're looking at. Make sure to check out TRHit's College Select showcases http://www.collegeselect.org/Sorry Sportsfan, I don't know any in your neck of the woods, but maybe others can recommend something. Check PG website for tourney results and you'll see a lot of these teams, and there are of course many more. These orgs continually field some of the very best teams in the nation. By no means is this an exhaustive list, but it's a start. ABD Bulldogs SoCal http://eteamz.active.com/abdbulldogs/Midland Redskins Cinn. OH www.midlandredskins.org/ DBAT Dallas eteamz.active.com/dbat/ East Cobb Baseball Marietta Ga www.eastcobbbaseball.com/

I'm in MO, so mac-n-seitz comes to mind. I play for them. They have a strong program, with retired pros Mike Macfarland(sp) and Kevin Seitzer heading it. go to www.macnseitz.com for info.

Don't want to speak for PG here, but I believe the list was for 2006? You might check back later for the 2007 rankings. I do know that in 2005 the Bayside Yankees had a very strong team in Marietta at the WWBA featuring Pedro Alvarez. They did very well in the 18U Championships that year. Lots of very good clubs on that PG list.

quote: I found this list of teams on one of Perfect Game's websites:
Top 25 18U Teams [QUOTE] 1. Florida Bombers (Florida) 2. Midland Redskins (Ohio) 3. Savanah Chain (Georgia) 4. ABD Bulldogs (California) 5. Houston Heat (Texas) 6. Ohio Warhawks (Ohio) 7. East Cobb Yankees (Georgia) 8. Dirtbags (North Carolina) 9. All American Prospects (Florida) 10. Louisiana All Stars 18U (Louisiana) 11. TROMBLY BRAVES (CALIFORNIA) 12. NorCal (California) 13. Orlando Scorpions (Florida) 14. Arizona Firebirds (Arizona) 15. NJ Twins (New Jersey) 16. SW FL Baseball (Florida) 17. East Cobb Cardinals (Georgia) 18. Texas Blackhawks (Texas) 19. East Cobb Braves 17U (Georgia) 20. Team Connecticut (Connecticut) 21. Georgia Stars (Georgia) 22. Atlanta Blue Jays (Georgia) 23. EDH Vipers (California) 24. Team Florida USA (Florida) 25. SE Texas Sun Devils (Florida)
Summerballrules, I don't doubt that list appears somewhere, but please tell me where. I can't seem to find it. Anyway, there are some teams who do not appear on that list that definitely should be. I'm just curious when that list appeared... Preseason, postseason, midseason? There are 3 or 4 teams from Texas, a couple from California, Florida and Georgia, a few from the midwest, northeast and mid atlantic and others around the country that belong on any list of top summer or fall programs. Also, I believe if this were a post season 2006 list it would look much different.

batnballs, Not sure that I'm the one who can answer your question, but you might offer some more details so that others may be able to. There are probably a lot of different options for summer ball in Fl. How serious is your son? Is he hoping to play college ball? At what level? What are his strengths, and what position(s)does he play? I'll bet someone with more local knowledge can provide info if they know more about your son. You might try posting in the Help Wanted thread also.
