Looking for some options for the summer. My son is late bloomer, skipped Frosh HS season but made JV team this season as sophomore and has developed extreme passion for the game. He's getting good DH and pinch hit opportunities but arm injury and other situations have kept him from playing defense in games. That said, the local Legion team is definite option, but as rising Junior, wants to play as much ball as he can over summer, late summer and fall to maximize playing time. To my knowledge there is only one travel team in our area (for Jr/Sr in the fall). We're applying for "Best in Virgina" camp for late July, but that's just one week. Any other advice/options or just make sure he focuses on Legion?

As with most kids, he ultimately wants to play college ball but needs playing time to develop. Our JV program only plays starters. Not sure what to expect from Legion or other summer teams.

Any thoughts, advice, etc. would be appreciated

Thanks!

Legion ball would be a great option, but I know our team would not consider a part time JV player. What about the local Babe Ruth league? Any travel or AAU type teams in your area?
