I have a choice between a 90% scholarship to Iowa Western, and Northern Iowa is offering a scholarship around there, but not sure yet, which one is the best choice in your minds.

Iowa Western is a Junior College. They have had a Nationally ranked Juco team over the past few years.

Northern Iowa is A DI program that plays in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wichita State, Creighton, etc.

Not sure if things have changed, but Northern Iowa never the full 11.7 scholarships available. A 90% offer from them would be unbelievable. I doubt that they've ever given 90% to a player.

The head coach at Iowa Western used to play for me. He is an outstanding young coach who worked at Baylor and Yavapi in Arizona before coming back to Iowa.

The head coach at Northern Iowa is also an outstanding coach. One of the very best.

You can't go wrong with either place, but they are very much different. One a small but high level juco in Council Bluffs and the other a very big college in Cedar Falls that plays high level DI baseball.

Just a FYI you may not want to give specifics in the future. The schools/coaches may get wind of it and may not appreciate the info being public plus your hesitation on their program.

On another note and more importantly there have been other posts that have dealt with what am going to say you can probably find on this site.

Choosing a school to receive a degree from and being a STUDENT/Athlete should not come down to who is giving you more money IMO. There are many reasons to pick a school financial should be just 1 part.

Things such as:
-size of school
-academic fit for the type of student you are
-academic assistance
-atmosphere
-housing
-social life
etc.......
Also-
on a sport basis
-type of players they recruit
-Coaching style
-Will you like the school if coach leaves or if you are unable to play?

Just a few of the many questions. In my opinion when looking at any school look at all the areas besides baseball to see if you like it. If it is not a fit for those areas it is going to be hard to be successful on the field.
