Joel Rinehart, RHP from Kingwood, TX, has committed to the US Naval Academy. A service academy education was not on his early radar screen, but, after much payer and consideration, Joel determined the Academy is where he should go.

Let me say a huge THANKS to folks on this website for all your tremendous advice and insights during the recruiting process. Let me also echo two points that have been made by many:
1) The WWBA tourneys in East Cobb are a must for players wanting to be seen.
2) Play hard, because you never know who is watching.

Joel was initially seen by a Navy coach at a small, seemingly “middle of no-where” field being used in the WWBA tourney. A second Navy coach showed up with gun in hand at another “middle of no-where” WWBA field.

After a visit to Annapolis and 3 ½ months of questions and discussions, Joel called Coach Kostacopoulos and accepted the offer to play. Needless to say, we’re all pretty excited!

Congratulations to you and your Son!

My brother played football at Navy, and is now a Lt. Colonel in the Marines.

What a great experience!

Congrats! I played baseball in Class of '93. If your son needs any advice in surviving plebe summer/year, please PM me.

A very hearty congrats to Joel. Perhaps we will meet when our sons face off on the field of freindly strife.

Expect that this adventure is going to be difficult. It is going to be hard. And expect to win.

Wow! Congratulations! I salute you for all the hard work and dedication; obviously, not only on the diamond but also in the classroom. Ahoy young man and the best of luck at the next level.

Congratulations! I believe my husband/son were in Annapolis on an official visit the same weekend as you and your son back in August. Best of luck to Joel, I am sure your family is very proud of him!
