My son Michael heard yesterday from the coach that he has officially been accepted to SMCM.

Outstanding academics, beautiful location and campus, and excellent D3 baseball in the Capital Athletic Conference.

I couldn't be prouder or happier for him but.....
Now I have to figure out a way to watch him pitch from 500 miles away.

Definitely a bittersweet feeling. I guess, technically speaking, we get an extra HS season next year, but it won't be the same.

SMC is one of the (many) colleges on our list. We will be sending out a package (video, resume, 2008 schedule) this weekend.

I found this school more based on its merits academically and comments about its campus and happy students. Baseball is icing on the cake!
