Although probably not all that common in baseball, my son grey shirted at a local JUCO last season with the intention of signing on to a four-year program in the Fall 2005. It's risky and has its own pot holes, but it worked for him. Colleges at all three levels (DI, DII, and DIII) expressed interest, and the college that showed the most was Cal Lutheran. Thanks to all for providing my son and me with such a grounding experience. The advice of attending a showcase in June of last year really seemed to help. Thanks again... tater

Forkball, congratulations applaude to you and your son. Assuming he will be attending CLU this Fall?
Hope you get lots of chances to see him play. CLU plays a challenging schedule and hopefully some of that will be in Northern CA where it will be even more convenient for parents.

Congrats to your son. I also have a freshman who will be attending this fall. We cannot say enough about the coaches. Cal Lutheran has a good and challenging baseball program. We are so excited to have him there. He looked at quite a few other places and this seemed to be the best fit.
