NEOBBson, Brian Taricska, a RHP, verbally commited to Coach Stricklin and the Kent State Golden Flashes last night. We're so excited that he's decided to become part of a program with such a great baseball tradition and that he will be staying close to home so we can still watch him play clap. Coaches Stricklin, Birkbeck and Daeley are continuing the excellence at Kent State. Watching Andy Sonnanstine pitch for the Tampa Bay Rays last night was a great confirmation of his decision!

We want to thank all of you who contribute to this website. You are wonderful!! Not only were many of our questions answered here but we also found encouragement when all we were feeling at the time was frustration. It has certainly been a roller coaster of emotion!! You learn so much as you navigate through the recruiting process. This will be our only time and we're really glad it's finally over. We hope to give back to this community to pay forward all we have received Smile

I have not been able to confirm; however, I was told last week by an Alabama alum that Coach Lou Sabin (Alabama) was a 2 sport athlete at Kent State, baseball and football. Seems to be some good bloodlines being developed at Kent State.

Congratulations and Best of Luck to Brian!!!

Consider it confirmed, and consider the # 15 is retired in honor of Thurman Munson from Canton Ohio.....check out a DVD called the Story of the Cape Cod Baseball League and the mark TM made there before he joined the NYY.

Thanks for your well wishes...

Oldslugger8...we watched the ring ceremony video earlier today and thought it was awesome! Son couldn't stop smiling the whole time. What a great season you had last year...we'll be watching and cheering the team on this spring.

Congratulations to Brian and family! The MAC is a great conference with very involved fans. It is great to be able to have your son close to home and be able to share in his collegiate endeavors.
