Tampa Prep Senior OF/RHP Ryan Santoni has decided on Florida Gulf Coast University. After taking official visits and receiving offers from East Stroudsburg University in PA and SCAD University in Georgia. The Prep standout took a visit to Fort Myers and met with D1 FGCU Recruiting Coordinator Rusty McKee who immediately offered the Tampa Prep standout a preferred Walk-On Invitation which Santoni has accepted. Santoni is currently leading Tampa Prep with a 428 Batting average and is 4-2 on the mound with 42 SO. Santoni is looking forward to playing for Florida Gulf Coast University next season were his parents and family will be able to watch him play.

I wish Ryan luck in having an opportunity to try out for FGCU next year, however, a walk-on invitation is not a promise of a roster spot and I am surprise he would not take a guaranteed NLI to the other schools you mentioned. I know of at least 4 other players that had recently been offered preferred walk-on invitations by FGCU whom instead wisely SIGNED with other schools.
