Where did you hear that? I tried checking several internet source and found nothing. That is a significant jump and is higher than what the Class A (full season) players were receiving ... $1,050. Guess our boys can all get married now since they won't be at the poverty level anymore ...

Sorry, but I don't see this as that big of a deal.
If anyone were to make their decision based on an extra $250 a month for 6 months = $1,500 a year, I think they should rethink whether that seems so much more attractive. Even in the normal 5 year span to make the Big Leagues this amounts to an extra $6,000 to $7,500. I’d much rather get the extra $6,000 at the beginning if it were me.
JMO - This is a bigger deal to those who are drafted low and don’t get much for signing. It is an added incentive for others, just not a big one. People who would sign because of the additional $250 a month are not thinking correctly. Yes, it is better, but the goal is to get to the Big Leagues, not make a few bucks a month more along the way. It’s all insignificant in the end, no matter how it ends.
However, it is a move in the right direction and it’s long overdue.

Based on info our son rec'd with his spring paperwork, the Dbacks' salary ranges now are $1,100 for all levels below AA. I think AA is still $1,500 and AAA $2,150. The $1,100 is only a $50 jump for other than first year players, for whom it is a $250 jump. Makes me want to ask my son to treat me to a steak dinner, now that he will be pulling in the big bucks ...
