I'm an 18 year old player from the netherlands. I could go play baseball for baltimore city community college. If I decide to go there and play for two years, i will be 20 years old then. Could somebody tell me how big of a chance i have to get drafted?

My other question is, how often do players at the community college level get drafted?

If you are a prospect, you will be seen and drafted no matter what school you go to.Many JC players are drafted every year.

The Community College of Baltimore - Catonsville had 2 players drafted this year 36th and 48th round. Based on their website

My son was drafted out of Frederick Community college (FCC) in 2004 in the 9th round. FCC is in the same conference as Baltimore City College. That conference is a tough conference. Chesapeake College went to the DII JuCo World Series this year and FCC has been 3 times out of the last 8 years.

Catonsville which is in the same conference had a pitcher drafted in the 8th round this year. There is some very good baseball played in that conference.

The answer to your second question can be found on many sites - each and every year.

You should look it up and find out for yourself.

Keystone: Welcome to these boards. There are a number of JUCOs, particularly in the midwest, that seem to carry a couple of foreign-born non-Latino players every year. I've seen Canadians, Australians, Italians on rosters this year.

Visit the NJCAA website - you can find JUCO homepages according to state/region, D1, D2, etc. Visit some of the baseball sites for a better feel. They will tell you all you would like to know, including what players were drafted in recent years.

There is not any catch to the Juco thing, you can be drafted every year in which you attend college but your chances of going to a big university increase if you put up numbers. But the answer to your question is that tons of kids are drafted out of Juco's Now there is a drawback to D2 Juco's, they just can't really compete with the Juco's in D1! I know people will get bitter about that statement but it is the truth. Good luck hope this helps.


P.S. check out Tennessee Juco ball it is good! Plus they are all D1 if I am not mistaken.

Seminole State in Oklahoma is D1 also.

JC's in the Northwest get a lot of guys drafted because they swing wood bats. Scouts like that. The only problem is some pitcher's numbers get inflated.
