When a scout says that he is bringing his cross checker, does that mean they have greater interest or do they have cross checkers look at everyone to get another opinion? Also, I saw a post on the different levels of scouts but can't remember where. Where does a cross checker fit in?

Here's Bob's article about the ranking of scouts.

Hope this helps,

If a cross checker shows up, your son is a potentially high draft choice.

If he's signable, I would say top 5 rounds.

So...If you have had contact with a Regional Scout would the next step be the Crosschecker? (That is if there is a next step)

two and no...Good news for both of your sons...Cross checker and regional scout are VERY GOOD SIGNS.

Lots of organizations do things a bit differently, but a cross checker appearing and a Regional Scout appearing means top-shelf draft possibilities...usually.

Thanks for the info Beenthere.

We're a little in the dark about this process. This info is good news indeed.

As you know, bbscout is a scout.

I was waiting for him to chime in on this topic.

Perhaps both of you can PM him...

Good luck and congrats!

Who do the questionaires and calls come from generally? A local scout or "bird-dog"?

It has been my experience that bird dogs will have you fill out a card for follow purposes and that area scouts will have you fill out the questionnaires.
