I Have a friend that's a Junior and he about 6'3 and runs a 6.8 60. He a lefty that plays 1st and throws 89 to 92 off the mound. He also hit .460 with 9 hrs and 31 rbi's. Do you think he has a shot of getting drafted out of high school? And if so what round do you think?

Couldn't say based on the information given, because of all the usual clarifications --- how many pitches does he have, does he throw them for strikes, what's the competition like to complile the numbers given, has he played in a venue where he'd be compared to a range of other North American players or just locally, is that a junior in hs or college, etc.

Lefties who run 6.8 60s are usually playing CF, not first base.

Any lefty who throws 89 to 92 with any reasonable amount of control has a shot at getting drafted. What round would go back to all the things Orlando asked. As far as the hitting stats, nobody who hasn't seen the kid play can have the slightest idea if they mean anything or not.

6. 8 runner in CF won't get it done in big leagues unless he is a plus bat and plus power guy.

His stats indicate he COULD be drafted in a hearbeat. Of course it all comes down to HOW he hit .460 with 9 hrs and 31 rbi's as a sophomore and HOW he throws 92 from the left side. Just being a sophomore lefty at 92 mph will garner a lot of interest from the scouts. Being a junior in high school he still has two years of hs baseball, showcases to attend, two years of summer ball, college offers, a NLI to sign, and a who knows what else to go through before you know where (or if) he'll be drafted.
