CaBB,

That was a really fun story. I felt like I was sitting next to you at graduation, feeling the suspense and then excitement of your son and his teammate. Congrats to #104 pick! Big Grin

Am I reading that right? Pick #274 - looks like a lefty catcher? Very interesting.

Although not my son, my friend and neighbor's son, Craig Kimbrel, was drafted by the Braves in the third round. I'm as excited for them as if he were my son. My son might just be at that point in a couple of years or so. I know they will share my excitement at that time, too.

I find this draft to be very strange.

Considering that I know some HS players passed on signability, lots of junior college players I know who passed up too. Many were position players, maybe because of a strong draft year for position guys, they would rather go back to school for next years draft. noidea

Erik, justbb --- BIG congrats and welcome to the Pads! Way cool!

The draft always is a conundrum. Pads organization drafted a whole bunch of OFers last year, and has some seriously tasty young OFers right now. So they took more, high (?) Last season they had a young 3B pretty much blocked by quality guys ahead of him. So they trade him for Edmonds (and look how long that lasted), the kid's on the 40 man for the Cards....but yet they take several 3B's high this year. Well, I obviously don't understand the draft Razz.

Sent my PM'd hurrah to Timmy's (Timmy??? Wink) Dad -- goin' public now! KC could mean a fast track, I'm likin' it!
