Thanks.

Was not drafted. A number of reasons have been given but they are only rumors-only Taylor
and family know for sure.

Baseball America and I believe TeamOne picked him as Number 1 to go in the 2004 draft.

Now Baseball America has chosen him again as the #1 college freshman-I believe this is based on professional projectability.

He is starting at Stanford.

Just in the interest of accuracy and nothing against Michael.

I can say that Baseball America did not have Michael Taylor ranked #1 last year. We had Chris Nelson, Homer Bailey, Matt Bush, Phil Hughes, Greg Golson, Neil Walker, Eric Hurley, Giovani Gonzalez, Jay Rainville as the top 10.

We're not involved in the college rankings, so it could be correct that Michael Taylor is ranked the #1 college freshman by Baseball America.

Michael has great tools, great size and he's a great kid, but it remains to be seen if he's going to be able to hit good pitching. If he proves he can, he'll be a very early pick when he next becomes eligible for the draft.

PG-As far as last year-I stand corrected that Baseball America did not have him #1, but he was ranked fairly high, was he not? Also, Team One did have him ranked 1 and Baseball America does have him #1 as a freshman.

After checking I see that BA had him ranked at least top 15 on FEB 26,2004-First Team Pre-season-HS AA Team.

Michael Taylor is goimg to have to prove himself in the next three years at Stanford.
He still has a lot of work to do with his hitting. I think Brendan Domaracki is a better player, all around, without the hype that Taylor had from PG and TeamOne. Taylor, should have gone pro, in my humble opinion. party
