We played in the Triple Crown Nationals last summer in Myrtle Beach. The games were at high school fields in the general area; Loris HS, Waccamaw HS in Georgetown, North Myrtle Beach HS, Conway HS and others. Some drives were an hour with traffic. Some fields were beautiful and others in need of attention. All of the high schools had concessions with ball park food and drinks. No charge for entry. We had some rain delays but the field crews did a great job getting the fields ready to play. Umpires were well balanced.

There is not a lack of anything to do in Myrtle Beach, especially in the summer. Our team families stayed at 3 or 4 different locations. Just personal preference. You can stay at a campground (budget) all the way up to a 5 star resort. You can spend hours looking at places to stay, where to eat, and things to do online.

Overall it was a good tournament with good competition. Make sure you have plenty of pitching. I think the limit is 7 innings per pitcher for the week with an extra inning added once you make the playoffs.

We'd do it again. We are in NC and it's a 3 1/2 hour drive for us so travel was not an issue. We had a berth for USSSA tourney in Battle Creek. It was pretty easy to decide where we wanted to go. Good luck!

I agree with the previous. My sons U13 competed in the Triple Crown in Myrtle last year, finishing runner-up and what was mentioned earlier was spot on. We did play on the Coastal Carolina field that was pretty sweet. Have intentions of trying to qualify again this April in Cincinnati. If not then we will hope to go to AAU in Sarasota. We are going to the Battle in the South in Tennessee also in June, 60 top teams ought to be a humdinger!

I think you might want to post this in "Pre-HS" or the "Tournament" forums. Since this one is about travel recommendations....which hotels are good....where do we eat....etc. you might not get as many responses in here as if it was posted elsewhere.
