Now that it is inevitable son will be sitting out his senior year due to a broken ankle, how hard is it to get spring training tickets for any given three day weekend? Preferably NY Yankees - but just about any other facility (Fla. or Az.) will do. How about hotels? This would be an uplifting experience considering the circumstances.

just booked a trip for my younger son, it was pretty easy. go to the mlb.com website, find your favorite team - they all have travel packages you can book online or call to talk to agent. our package to AZ included air, game tickets, team merchandise (you can even get tickets to games other than the specific team you signed on for)a team bbq after a game and rental car. they have a choice of hotels at different prices. we booked our hotel thru rewards. if you can't find it let me know i'll send you the phone number i used.

Its, very tough to get tix to Legends Field to see the Yankees. Phillies are in Clearwater and Jays in Dunedin. If you are going with your son, I suggest you spend a day at the minor league facilities. Admission is free and every afternoon you will see two games going on at most every facility. Gets you very close to the minor league players with the ability to usually watch a AAA and high A or AA and low A games on separate fields. Awfully fun.
