Some of the upcoming spring break tournaments should give us an idea of how the SoCal teams match up. Thousand Oaks runs into Cypress and Long Beach Wilson in consecutive games in the Anaheim Lions tournament if memory serves. That should be interesting. There are some other pretty good matchups also with Newbury Park playing in the Phil Nevin classic. However, Newbury Park may not have the pitching depth to win that one.

Chatsworth lost in the semifinals of their Las Vegas tournament to another SoCal team. With their best pitcher stuck down on JV Chatsworth really isn't a team that deserves to be in the top 25 or maybe not even top 50 nationally. They play in a weak league and run up a good record and some good stats in league.

Let's see, Thousand Oaks beat Baseball America #4 Long Beach Wilson easily and #14 Cypress easily but lost a tight one to El Toro (who also beat Cypress).

C'mon Baseball America. I realize that the pitching gets thin for everyone in these spring break tournaments and TO tried to get by with a Junior who hadn't pitched that much against El Toro just as some other teams may have not thrown their best pitchers against TO, but it should be obvious by now that TO is one of the best teams in the nation. Time to wake up.
