DB2B Mom...

Be careful...Look both ways no...lots of crazed college baseball parents clapping on the road with stars in their eyes...eyelove

As I reported earlier the left coast Karmahog worm saw cleates and is promising clear skies and mid seventies's for the SoCal games.

Showers for NorCal sat we'll see just how powerful JB and the Evil empire are to see if they can stave off Sat's rain...

We expect a full report rap

The USF UCR series, which was supposed to be in San Francisco this weekend has moved to Riverside due to the weather and field conditions at USF. Now I have a real problem, LBSU-USC tonight, my son's JC on Saturady, then USF-UCR on Sunday. GAs is so **** expensive!. But it is great to live in SoCal

From an old 'been there done that have the t-shirt' college baseball mom to all my friends on the Cali board ...

Looking forward to reading great things about your boys this week-end. Best wishes to DB2BMom's son, who it will be easy to cheer for 'cause he isn't facing off with any other HSBBWebsters' sons. Now for Bully and URKMB ... well, let's try this ... here is hoping for a great series for Little Bully and an opportunity for Little URKMB to pitch some great relief but without having to face Little Bully.

Bully (I can't get the image of you in tighty whities out of my mind) and URKMBlue ...

Hope to make it to the game Sat, but haven't decided yet. Nevertheless will be thinking of both boys.

Game one is in the books with a big "W" against the Trojans!! Dirtbags win 4 - 2!!greenjump greenjump

The stands were filled to the max with the announcement that this was the second largest crowd ever at Blair Field. And I believe it as we all sat shoulder to shoulder in the bleacher seats.

Our pitcher struggled a bit with control and gave up two runs early in the first inning but finished strong over the next five with only two hits and no runs. The Trojans pitcher went five strong innings with 3 up and 3 down each inning.

Around the 4th inning, the infamous fog/mist that I'd only heard about came rolling in to Blair....the fog coming down almost right on top of the fielders. I've never seen anything like it!!! Eek

So now the Dirtbags are still down 2 - 0 in the 6th with two outs....they get back to back singles...and with two men on....the next batter baseball7 hits a towering popup to right field that the player loses in the fog and the ball drops behind him dizzy....two runs score to tie it up!!! The crowd goes wild clapping and we are doused with Bud Light as a student/heckler sitting just behind us is so excited he jumps up and down knocking his neighbor's beer straight up in the air on top of all of us!! drunkard But we didn't care....we were just as excited as he was!!! And now we are still at two outs with a batter on second...the next batter hits another towering popup that the second baseman also loses in the fog and it drops between him and the right fielder....the go-ahead run scores. The next batter pops up to SS to end the inning. About this time, the fog/mist begins to dissappate and all is clear again by the 8th inning. The Dirtbags score once more in the 7th while the bullpen baseball4 holds the Trojans to zero runs in the last three innings for the save! party

Isn't it unbelievable that the fog stayed just long enough for the team to score the runs they needed to win the game??? noidea

I can now say that I am officially a college baseball parent and I absolutely love it! I totally understand and feel what you all have been writing about here all along.

I love this game!!!

Thanks HSBBW, Bob and Julie!!!

DB2BMom ...

First off ... you really must change your board ID ... you are now a DBMom, not a '2B' mom

Secondly ... "I can now say that I am officially a college baseball parent and I absolutely love it! I totally understand and feel what you all have been writing about here all along." ... Ain't it a kick?
