I see CCYB is hosting a world series tournament in August in Orange County. My son's 11u team is looking for a good fun tournament around that time. Does anyone out there have experience with or comments about CCYB?

My 12U son has been playing in CCYB spring and winter leagues for the past 2 years and it has been a great experience. Generally in league play they match up teams of the same level and we have had no issues with the way things are run. The league president is Todd Rogers and he has been around southern California competive baseball for a long time so he knows what it takes to run a good program.

This will be their first WS but based on the website it looks like a lot of teams from outside the area will be attending and should be a great week of baseball.

My 11U played in CCYB league last Fall and this spring - and his team looks to be playing in CCYB world series. I echo Mustang Dads comments. The fields during CCYB league play can sometimes be spotty, depending on the host's site - but the facilities for the world series should be pretty good. The Champions complex in Placentia is a very nice facility in particular, in my opinion. The league does seem well organized, and I'll suspect the tournament will be very well done as well.

The CCYB World Series is going on right now. It's a very well organized tournament with about 75 different teams showing up in 5 different age brackets. I'm sure this tournament will continue to grow.

The 1st annual CCYB World Series has come to an end. There were a few small problems but for a first year event, not too bad. Congratulations to all the winners.

Yes, it was a nice tournament. Our son's 11U team did not win, but they played very well, just lost to a very good team at the end.

Astrodad, I assume you were with Boys of Baseball AL, how did you find the competition in your age group? Did you run into teams you thought were really good?

My son was with the 13U Boys of Baseball Team. We knew the Michigan Chargers would be good. We think they won a week in Cooperstown last year. We knew the Metro Baseball Academy would be good, we have run into them several times. The Yorba Linda Bulldogs and the Inland Empire Young Guns we have seen in the NATC in Cooperstown last year so we knew they would be well coached.

I'm sorry, I left a good team out. The OC Crushers were a very well coached team. Please keep in mind, I did not see any of the games. I'm just reporting what I heard and I'm sure there were more good teams there we didn't get to play.
