As we have seen in the past new school typically bring about successful baseball programs. See Vista Murietta, Tesoro, Los Osos. This year the new programs have been:

Tahquitz (Hemet)
Heritage (Romoland)
Rubidoux (Rubidoux)

The interesting thing about this situation is they will all go into the Mountain Pass League in D5. Does anyone know anything about these teams and coaches. I have looked into the coaches and I know Ron Savage (Tahquitz) has 9 years of Had Varsity experience and appears to be a very successful head coach from the San Gabriel Valley. Scott Montgomery (Heritage) was an assistant at Paloma Valley and I know nothing about Rubidoux. Tahquitz beat both teams every time they played them and looks like they have the making of a very good program. Does anyone know anything else?

I have know coach Savage for a some years. I was really impressed of how his teams did well each year. He did this with very limited talent and a tough area. We would play him in the fall each year and I would think it was going to be long season for him. By the time the Spring came around they were a completely different team. He made his kids better.
