What a dead forum! Many of us are out on the road with our son's playing summer ball, so who's going where?

We played last week in the Bay Area. This week we've got our 16 yr. old team in the Jr. Olympics in Arizona, and our 18 yr. old team playing in Riverside in Perfect Game's BCS.

Who else has been on the road lately?

We just got back from Omaha (USSSA 12U-We won!), on our way to Triple Crown World Series in Steamboat and probably playing in Cooperstown in August. I had to sell my youngest but we are having a great time! Cool

Just got back from Omaha.
Son's First time in his own Bed, since June 7th.
We played middle of the Road in Omaha, 4W- 3L.
But the Team won 3 in a row in 1 Day.
Getting ready for Long Beach at the end of the week.

BBfam,

"We just got back from Omaha (USSSA 12U- We won!),"

A friend of mine has two boys who play on a team that just took 2nd place in a youth tourney in Omaha. I am not sure of their age bracket, but 12U sounds about right. Did your son by any chance beat a Minnesota team (I think they are called the Osseo Storm)?

And by the way, congrats to your son's team!

Smile

MNMom-I think they were in the other bracket. There were so many teams signed up for this tournament that they split it into two separate tournaments. There was a team from Eagan in our tournament but they lost the game before the championship game. We had a great time and are now preparing for Steamboat. Hopefully we will do as well there.

Just got back from Steamboat Springs , Colorado. The son had a wonderful Tournament saving two games for wins and Starting another one and winning. Great teams and great talent from the SOCAL Redwings and the East County Scorps.

Overall the tourney was loaded with Talent but the REDWINGS are stocked with talent.

What age level? Boy, I'd sure like to be in Steamboat Springs this past week, since it's been over 110 degrees here lately.

13U age level. Very proud on how the kids performed. Unfortuantely we rented a house and 5 kids got the 24 hour stomach flu. They ended up playing with 8 players in their last game.

Very hot and uncomfortable a couple of days especially when you drive out to Hayden and Craig for a couple of games!!!

Well good luck and have fun! One thing is for sure California Teams played well in the Tourney and the Cal Redwings are just too stacked talent wise for anyone to even have a shot at the title!

This summer has been soo full of baseball that I am not sure where spring ended and summer began! I was lucky enough to play with the San Diego Sharks in a pre-Olympic tourney, then went to Marietta for 2 weeks to play in the 17 U & 18U National Championships, and I am leaving on Sunday for Italy to play in a goodwill type tournament for 8 days. Part of my team will be in San Diego for the WCSS..I want to play with them, too for Friday and Saturday, but my mom says they don't have washing machines on the airplanes!! What is up with that? I have had an incredible summer... I don't want it to stop!

We just got back from Steamboat yesterday with the 12U age. Kids came in 7th after going to the loser bracket when our bats decided to nap for the one game. But, the lesson was that they fought and clawed their way back on Saturday before finally pooping out after 4 games in the heat (I thought it was supposed to be cool there!) Very proud of them for not giving up. Even came back in one game from a 7-0 deficit. They had lots of character I thought. Son had a great tourney too! Batted just shy of .500 with a 300+ ft. dinker and 7 of his 10 hits were for extra bases. Will be off to Cooperstown in a few weeks. Hopefully will fare better and it will be cooler.

06catcherdad,

We were thrilled to have played you guys in the championship game in SD. You guys have an excellent team. I am sure we will hook up again somewhere in the country.

Best of luck to you and the Vipers - you have a pm
