If you don't get any specific recommendations you might want to go to www.markcresse.com and send them an e-mail asking for a referral near the part of OC where you live. They use a lot of good people at those camps who also do private instruction and they should be able to steer you in the right direction.

You might also check with Steve Trombly at Trombly Baseball ... he should have some referrals. Last I checked, he was in the Brea area but he may have connections elsewhere in the county. His website is Trombly website and his e-mail address is steve@tromblybaseball.com

He was an assistant coach at Orange Lutheran for a while but he set out on his own a few years ago. I could be wrong (am once in a while) but he may be involved in the December tournament that was so popular years ago (before December became a dead period for college recruiting).

Good luck.

If you don't find what you are looking for in OC I know one in Corona, traffic will be a pain but he is good. Works out of Power Alley Sports 12111 Severn Way, Riverside CA. It is on the East border of Corona.

Someone recently recommended the name of Gary Buckles. Anyone familiar with him or his name?
Thanks

Coto De Caza in Rancho Santa Margarita. Don't know how to get in touch with him but I hear he's very good.

I currently have a few spots open for pitching/hitting lessons. I am an assistant coach at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt SAC) and do a few lessons per week there. Our facilty was built about 2 1/2 years ago and is one of the nicest in California. It is a 4.2 million dollar stadium w/ lights. We have (4) 70 ft batting tunnels and very large bullpens which makes for a nice setting to work out.

We are located in Walnut (1 mile from Cal Poly Pomona) where the 57 and 60 freeways meet. Our location is perfect for those coming from Orange County, LA County, Riverside, etc.

If you interested and would like more info, please send me an email and I will get back to you.

Steve ...

Are you working with Randy Kapano at Mt SAC? I thought I remembered that he was doing some kind of coaching there. (When AJ was at that more "trainable" age, he worked with Randy in his facility ... not a full fledged batting cage set up by any means like yours.)

Hope all is well.

Mary Ann

PS Did you notice the "plug" I gave you earlier in this thread. hi (You're quite welcome)

Mary Ann,
I did notice the plug you gave me and I do appreciate it!

Randy is no longer coaching at Mt SAC. This is my 1st year here and it really is a great place to be. I am an instructor in the PE Department and an assistant baseball coach as well.

We are going to be doing some camps and clinics here at Mt SAC and are going to be using some of the pro guys that I know. I would love to have AJ help out if he is interested in the offseason.

Steve ...

I will let him know. Last off-season, they lived in Brea ... just down the road from Walnut Creek, right?

Future Back- Walnut Creek is actually about 5 miles away from me. That would be a long commute.

Well, DOH !!!! I have no idea why I added the Creek to Walnut. And having once been in WC while son was on a visit to St Mary's, I agree that it might be a bit of a commute. And it wasn't even that early in the morning or late at night that I wrote that post. 14
