Hello,
Has anyone heard of the Jagersports camps held at LA Pierce Junior College or the Area Code Camp which will be held at Orange Coast College? I am thinking about sending my son to one of these camps as well as the Mark Cresse camp. My son will be entering 9th grade next fall so we are trying to just make sure he has top notch fundmentals. Thanks Wink

Alan Jaeger's camps consist of long toss, arm conditioning and mental training. He seems a bit young for the area code camp, but I'm not that familiar with them.

Thanks. Is that it for the Jaeger camp? It seems like mental conditioning is good, but what about long toss and arm conditioning? Do those things help as well? Is this camp more so for pitchers? The area code camp according to the literature is for 9th, 10th and 11th graders.

Calsportsmom ...

Jaeger's program is utilized by many pitchers but is also valuable for any baseball player. He provides conditioning and stretching instruction, long toss exercises, and I believe at some of his camps he gets the players involved in mental work (don't know exactly what conditioning he uses there). When our son was in college, he attended some of Jaeger's camps, as did several other college AND pro players, as well as many younger players. Some were pitchers, but not all. Our son found the program worthwhile and took what he learned to his work in college and now at the professional level.

This definitely is not a 5-tool skills camp as it is geared to throwing efficiently and effectively no matter the position the player takes on the field. But I personally have met Alan Jaeger and talked with him and find that he has a lot to offer young men both in their physical development as well as their mental toughness. Additionally, Alan is a gentleman and an outstanding example for young players.

If we had known about Jaeger's program when our son was in high school, I am sure we would have sent him there more than once.

Might see you there. CASon went to the camps from the time he was 10yo until sidelined by a back injury last year and we're planning to have him go one week this year if we get back from vacation in time.
