Any word on who will be representing Norcal and Socal this year? I heard there will be 4 Cal teams since Utah is not coming.

NorCal won the Santa Rosa Section earlier today over the Oakland Oaks. Great game, 10 innings, 3-2, bottom of 10th win with a 2-out double. NorCal pitcher R.W. Smith went all 10 throwing only 110 pitches. Oaks pitcher went 8+ and did great too. Both teams advance. Also host Lafayette will be there. Don't now of any others.

See you there?

OK, we'll look for you.

BTW, NorthernCalif_Dad's son pitched a great game against the Oaks on Saturday. 3-1 win for NorCal as they had to come through the losers' bracket. NorthernCalif_Dad must have walked (paced) 5 miles behind the stands during the game! manrunning

Yes, it is my curse, my legs and feet were very sore the next day. Had a great conversation with JustBB on how difficult it is to be pitchers parent. Good thing some of the wineries in Sonoma were still open after the game Big Grin
When we got home we asked our son if he was stressed during the game, he answered "Why should've I been?". noidea Go figure, I guess my wife and I stress enough for him.

Very satisfying win considering all the chatter. Hope I can make it to watch E on the hill this week.

Here's the website for So Cal Connie Mack

South Coast Connie Mack

Although it was not without contraversy... As the Dawgs who were in the Championship game, were actually beat in the first round by ABD, but they protested the game over a player eligiblity issue, and won the protest.

SDBB...who's representing Socal-San Diego at St Mary's? Also, there appears to be another No Cal team replacing Utah...any ideas?

NorthernCalif_Dad - thanks for asking. Frown Frown
We're done as of Saturday - again did not make it out of Regionals. Worst part, unlike your guys, did not shut down the team that 'chirps' a lot... Oh well. My son is already hitting the gym hard and changing his focus to the next big challenge! Good luck to you all as you continue on.

BTW, I heard a rumor that you might have an 05 teammate joining your son next year??? True??? WOW! Cool

Starzz - As I understand it, the Utah team dropped out so they took the 2nd place Northern California team. Thats the Oaks. I could have it wrong, but thats what I understood.

RHP05 -- clap clap party CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I guess our sons ran into each other last night and compared notes Big Grin. I'm thrilled for E - sounds like a great fit. A beautiful campus, a great field, (relatively)new head coach and an awesome pitching coach.... what could be better!
P.S. It's a great place for parents, too - wonderful town (my daughter went there, btw).

This is first I have heard of it and great news for Poly. Congrats and we look forward to giving Long Beach and Fullerton some serious competition. Looks like the Mustang coaches are serious about winning.
Still a long way until NLI day and the draft, but all I can say is WOW and 'stay in school'(please)

IMHO to much is made of non-sensical issues. "Chirping" and a player being declared "illegal" because a piece of paper is missing in his file are not what BB should be about.

This game is for the players, not parents, and certainly not bureaucrats.
