When does the regular season end and the playoffs begin? What is the playpff format in California?

Playoff usually finish the first week of June. Playoffs are the 2nd week of May.

Our season (CIF-Southern Section)ends Friday May 14th. The first CIF playoff game is scheduled for Friday May 21st.

I think that the San Diego playoffs begin May 25th -- go through the first week of June.
San Diego has four divisions (large to small schools).

One play-in game / single elimination for seeds 5-12. Then double elimination for seeds 1-8. Highest seed hosts. Final championship games held at SDSU Tony Gywnn stadium.

CIF-North Coast Section (NCS), league games end May 22nd. Playoffs are May 25th thru June 5th.
