Hey,

due to a divorce and a lot of moving around(blah blah) the last two years I havent had a stable baseball team. I was pretty good before throwing upper 70's/low 80's in my 14 y/o year of baseball. I am now 17 and am about to start community college. I have always pitched and I am thinking of going out for my team in the fall. I have faith that with my talent and hard work I can make the team and potentially bring myself back to where I should be if I would've never had the interuption. My question for you guys is.... do you have any advice on ways to condition myself and all that between now and the fall college workouts starting in september. anyways thanks to anyone who cares to respond.

Michael

Many of the JC teams in your area have summer teams, or place their players on a team. Many also have a summer workout program through summer school. Contact the coach of the school you are interested in attending.

Here is a list of the coaches: http://spincostats.com/CommunityCollegeBaseball/2007/CCCBCALIST.pdf

Michael:

Go up to Skyline College (your local JC)almost any afternoon (5-8pm) and go to the batting cage. The hitting coach for Skyline gives lessons and runs a summer camp. Over the past few years the camp has had HS and some college kids (mostly incoming freshman). Additionally, if it is before some of the independent pro leagues start you will run into a bunch of players that hit at Skyline until the season starts.

The coach is John Quintell, he played in the Yankees organization for awhile. He is now the assitant coach at Skyline working with pitchers and hitters. Introduce yourself and ask for his help, he is a great guy.
