Team California is still undefeated (5-0) in the Jr. Sunbelt Classic in Oklahoma. The only other undefeated team in the tournament is Texas. California plays Tennessee and Oklahoma today. They go up against Texas & Georgia tomorrow.
Teams in the tournament represent California, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Arizona, and Canada.
That was one of the most fun events I went too last summer. Great town (McAlester, OK), great hosts, great venues, great baseball. I'm sure your son is really enjoying it.

Just - Yes, the players are having a fun time and the Oklahoma host families have been great. Half of this parent duo is in OK. The other half is still working, but will catch up with them at the PG Nationals and Joplin.

Had a fun day yesterday watching URKillingMeBlue's son (YES, she really does say that to the umpire), Northern_CalifDad's son and ED pitch in a doubleheader in Danville. All 3 did very well. Was fun to be out there on the summer circuit again!

Back at you, Just - It was great to meet you in person and have a chance to see ED pitch, even though it meant a loss for our team! He is the real deal, by the way. I think he was already in his next wind-up by the time some of our batters were swinging... What fun to see all three webster sons pitch well. Northern_Cal Dad's son has some nasty off-speed stuff. Also, thanks for putting the jug on N - made his day when I told him! RHP05 - hope your E is having a great time! Hope to see him pitch at least once this summer. Is JL with you - how is he pitching?

URKillingMeBlue - Yes, the local '05 RHP duo is together again. Team California just finished their second game for today and were handed their first loss by Oklahoma 14-11. With 7 games in the last 4 days, teams are running low on arms, turning games into slug-fests. But our local duo is back on the mound tomorrow for the two final games against Texas and Georgia. Championship games are Wednesday. A cheer for the Golden State please!

Good time this weekend. Great tournament, was my son's favorite. He had a great host family last year, they owned a mortuary and took the kids to the games in a Limo! Is Parigi there? He and my son are pretty good friends, but a little scary together. Lefties y'know.

NorthernCalif_Dad - I missed your question earlier. No, Parigi isn't with this team. His left arm would have been a great addition.
URKillingMeBlue - Who will pitch tomorrow? Every available arm they have left! Hopefully there is still an inning or two left on enough arms to get the job done. Game time is 6:00pm CT.

Well folks, it wasn't meant to be. Congratulations to Team Georgia! They stomped California 11-2 to win 1st place in the Jr. Sunbelt Classic. The kids had a fun time with their host families. A great tournament and terrific host town of McAlester, OK.
