The Hilltop Tournament in San Diego has concluded pool play. Finals will be played Saturday, 3/15 10:30am at Hilltop HS in Chula Vista. The game features a marquis matchup between #1 ranked Poway and #2 ranked Cathedral Catholic (preseason ranking by the San Diego U-T).

Come on down to Baumgarten Field, enjoy a dog, and see some great pre-conference HS baseball!!!

...then come Monday, the Lions Tournament fires up...

Wish I could report on a Cathedral win, but circumstances dictated otherwise. For about 3 innings things were on the up and up (CCHS was up 2-1), but the Cathedral coach decided that the Lions tournament (next week) was more important and pulled our first string pitcher and defense. From the 4th inning on, the game was a glorified scrimmage from the CCHS standpoint. Poway won 13-4. A very frustrating day for the Cathedral parents and players, but what can you do?
