We were at the Cal Poly - San Jose State game last night. We were cruising along at 1-0 Cal Poly until the 4th, then it got ugly, very ugly. Jimmy Shull gave up 5 runs that inning, they pulled him, put in two more relief pitchers and gave up 4 more runs before they got out of it. The next inning wasn't any better and the final score ended up being 15-2. Coach Lee used a lot of pitchers, and put guys in to play in the field or pinch hit once the game was a runaway. It was nice to see some young guys get some PT. My husband blames the loss on the "dizzy bat" contest before the 4th inning. Shull couldn't throw his usual amount of warm up pitches because of the contest, and hubby was sitting there saying "he's going to give up a hit this inning because his rhythm is getting messed up". A doomsayer as that and more came to pass....LOL..Shull had a no hitter going into the 4th. Frown

Ohbaseball- I left the house with 2 on in the top of the 4th and came back to a disaster. Hopefully it goes better today with Olson on the hill. The radio anouncer was a lot better last night too. They had a professional instead of the regular guy.
I sent to a PM also.

NC Dad- Outstanding stuff! Went to Santa Clara game yesterday as the Broncos pulled one out and Cal-UC Irvine game today where about ten of our ex-players were in action and excelling. Ran into 40 people I knew there, ate dinner with Brad Bergy (ready to go for spring training), and went home to check on about 10 games on my favorites list. Metzger went 2-2 btw and Beau Mills and Moresi had a nice day in Fresno-UCLA series. Karl Bolt 7-13 with 2 HR's for AFA and Morrow and Erickson throwing 94 at Berkeley. Just a few highlights. Great time!

CalBB - you live a rough life. Great to hear about all the alum of yours and kids I have enjoyed seeing play over the last few years. I see Couch is getting a lot af time on the hill also.
I think it would take forum dedicated your alum alone to keep up with all those fine NorCal players. Keep up the good work.

CalBB, Glad you chose the Cal/UC Irvine game on Saturday to attend. From my perspective, it was the best of the series... Mad

UKMB- That was a blast that day. It was great seeing Nick there. Got a chance to talk with him for a bit. What a great kid. You should be proud of him on and off the field!

NC Dad- It's really rewarding to see all the kids we all know doing so well and a bunch more ready to be successful as soon as they get their opportunity. We're all fortunate to have been around these kids. They truly bring us a sense of satisfaction for all their (and our) hard work.

Calbb,
Let me know when you are going to be back down in So Cal. It would be great to catch a game and grab some dinner. I could put in our names today at the Cheescake Factory in Brea and we might get a table this season!

I am very familiar with both of those places as i live in Brea. Outback's curbside takeaway has been great during the later stages of my wifes pregnancy and since we had our twins almost 2 weeks ago. BJ's is great to go to after Titan games because on the back of your ticket there is a coupon for a FREE PIZOOKIE!!!!
