Sacto BB...

PM 06catcherdad, he coaches the El Dorado Hills Vipers.

Here are some other teams in the Sacramento Area to consider:

DSA Mustangs.... They have try-outs beginning on May 25th and 28th.

DSA Mustangs Website

River City Wildcats.....RC Wildcats

There is also NorCal baseball, which is out of the East Bay Area. They are probably considered the elite team in Northern California and the expense to play for them is probably much higher than the other teams.

NorCal Baseball

Unfortunately, the team my son played for has been abandoned due to the head coach having medical issues.

Check them out and please let me know if you have any other questions. There are many more but these are the ones that come to my mind right now.

p.s. You have a PM.

DB2Mom- I run NorCal. I think there are a couple misconceptions about us in your post. First, we are named NorCal because we draw from all over northern California. As a matter of fact, many of out top players have been from the Sacramento area. I happen to live in the eastbay but our coaches are from all over. Secondly, I'm not quite sure why you would think it costs more to play for us. Our fees are in line with everybody I know and travel expenses are the same as others who go to the same events as us. We have never alowed finances to get in the way of one of our kids participating in our program. If you have any questions about out club you can e-mail me. My address is on our website.

I have a related question - friend of mine is looking for some competitive options for his 15 yr old son this summer. They are based in the Tahoe area, but could get to Reno or possibly Sacramento. Thanks DB2BMom for the info on Sacramento (and congrats to Vance for a solid year, btw), but does anyone know anything about summer options in the Reno area?

ncball....

I listed NorCal as one of the teams for Sacto BB to check into because I am fully aware that there are players from the Sacramento area on your rosters. My son's team has played against NorCal on several occasions.

Your teams are some of the best that we have encountered and I have always enjoyed watching these games as they are always competitive.

I apologize for my statement about the expense of playing for your club. I heard this second hand and should not have made the comment.

Good luck in your upcoming 2005 Summer Season.

URKMB...

Thanks for the congrats. I will have an update for the ladies soon.

Sorry, but I can't help as far as teams in the Reno/Tahoe area. Son's team played in Sparks a couple of summers ago but it was against a some local high school teams.

DB2BMom- Thank you for the nice compliments. I just felt like I needed to clarify a couple points. Good luck to your son this summer.
