Has a new coach been announced? Who is in the running?

There have been the same rumors with the same names for over a year now- John Savage from UCI, George Horton of CSFullerton, Andy Lopez from Arizona, UCLA coach Vince Beringhle, among others and the newest rumor I've heard Jerry Wienstein of Cal Poly SLO.

IMO the best coach for the job is still Gary Adams.

With recruiting for '05s starting tomorrow, you would think UCLA would have announced by now! Sure puts a question mark on several schools!

UCLA offered the job to Coach Savage from UCI yesterday. He has been rumored to accept the job earlier today.

Congratulations to John, he is a GREAT guy. Past history with USC, should enjoy the rivalry from the "other side of the tracks" !!

silence ... who are you talking aboaut? The replacement for John Savage @ UCI? The coach you are referring to is Frank Cruz, and I just don't think he will be looking for a move to UCI.

I have heard that Coach Gill (asst at UCI) is the most likely candidate to replace Coach Savage. If he doesn't get selected, I suspect he will join the other UCI coaches at UCLA.

I heard their might be some other assistant coaches in the Big West that might be applying.

Hint: They were in the Regionals this year...

We'll see, I personally hope Gill gets the job, both he and Pat Shine did a great job at UCI.
