Every year, in and out, we always think of the only "loaded" schools in CA are El Camino Real and Chatsworth. That is true, they are very good but...
The schools that are now sneaking up on the radar are Palmdale and Quartz Hill. They are in the Golden League in the Antelope Valley area. granite, they play in a rather weak league and those two are the two top schools out of that league without question. The Quartz Hill Rebels took home a division 3 championship this year at angel stadium without any trouble. They lost near a dozen and a half seniors but they still to have a good number of returners that can be affected. Shon Roe of Quartz Hill is one of the top 08' Shortstops and They have Randy Reno, Joe Vierra and Nico Moreno returning as the 07' core. They will have 4 other 08's returning. Travis McBride and three pitchers on many peoples list as top 08' pitchers in southern Califrornia in Brian Morgan, Mike Massari and Brandon Van Dam. They will be young, but good.
Palmdale is in the position that Quartz Hill was in last season. A team full of senior prospects. They don't have the same number of Division 1 prospects like QH did but they are lead by Trevor Bloom. An OF/P. He is a heavy D1 and a high draft pick because of his lively bat. His 8 HRs as a sophmore, and his 50 RBI junior season can prove to any scout that he is clutch and have an unlimited amout of potential. Palmdale also has a 6'7" pitcher in Michael Tonkin, he is ranked among Massari, Van Dam and Morgan on the lists of 08' pitchers. He is higher among all three in the list though.
Palmdale will have talent and experience. The league could be taken by either team. Palmdale is a favorite in my mind.

Look at where the "loaded" teams finished in the Easton tournament last year. Chatsworth and El Camino are typically very good, but they also benefit from a weak schedule in league.
