Hmom,
Depending on when you see this, are you or did you go to Hawaii for the series there?

CADad ...

Nope, stayed home. Figured the weather was going to be a negative ... heavy rains in Hilo sent the players to Kona for a double header today. Won both (7-1 in first 7-inning game; 6-5 in 2nd game ... took 13 innings to do it). They will play in Hilo tomorrow (barring bad weather) because Kona is not available, and play again Sunday in Hilo (I think).

Just talked with son ... he never complains about umpires and their zones but said the guy calling his game was definitely not an elite umpire ... no 2 pitches got the same call. Oh well ... as they say, a win is a win is a win.

My son got an umpire who hates my guts on Tuesday (Little League politics). I was more than a little bit afraid of what was going to happen but although he had a tight strike zone he called about the most consistent game I've ever seen at that level. You'd think they'd have better umpires in college than in LL.

Funny you should mention that ... hubby saw the players and coaches return from Hawaii at LAX this a.m. (He is the Ops Mgr at LA Control Tower ...) He said the coaches told him they were a little concerned when one of the umpires, on Friday, came to the game wearing his Little League umpire patch ... Eek
