Interested in any thoughts/experiences with respect to Michigan baseball. How are the coaches? Stable program? Facilities?

First off, it is an excellent educational opportunity. The facilites and stadium have just been renovated and are very nice. They actually weren't too bad before they redid them. Baseball field is on campus and right next to the "Big House", the 100,000 seat plus football stadium. Though 2009 was a down year for Michigan, they are generally in contention for the Big Ten title every year and have been in the NCAA tourney on a fairly regular basis representing the conference.
They had 4 or 5 kids drafted and signed off of their 2008 team and that probably contributed to their 2009 results. If you have the chance to go to Michigan and play baseball it would be a good opportunity.

I met their coach at a showcase and he seemed like one of the "good guys".

hitithard- My son is a CA kid playing at Michigan now as a recruited walk on. I am heading back there this weekend for the Maize and Blue game/Baseball parents' weekend. I agree with DiamondFan's and CADad's comments - send me a PM if you want to continue the discussion. More than happy to share our experience and answer your questions.

I have nothing but the highest regard for that program, especially Coach Maloney. Son was an offered recruit, ended up choosing elsewhere but not due to anything to do with the staff. Coaches excellent individuals, straight forward. Campus and education among the best. Facilities Aces for a midwest campus. Can't say anything but good things about our experience with UM.
More than happy to discuss our experience in a PM if desired.
