Does anyone have info on the Michigan Junior Recruit Day? I was invited, but would like to find out a little more before I decide.

My son was recruited by UM last year. He chose a school closer to home, but Coach Maloney & Coach Keller were two of the best people we met through the whole recruiting process. Their remodeled facility will be one of the finest in the midwest. I still have regrets, at times, that my son did not end up with these guys.

After some more discussion with my dad, we decided to make the 11 hour drive from mn to michigan. It was well worth it. Coach Maloney and Coach Keller were great guys, and I loved everything that they had to show us. There were about 40 juniors there. they took us to some of their indoor facilities and showed us around. I have nothing but good things to say about the coaches, facilities, and the players that I got to meet.

Trav, Have you attended any other Big 10 junior days? What position do you play? Michigan is a great school, but out of state fees are up there.

ThroStrikes, I am a catcher. I havent been to any other junior days, but i have gone to some camps. I know that out of state tuitions are getting pretty crazy. At the junior day, they said it was about $40,000/ year at Michigan for out of state.

That is correct (40K). Jeter went to Michigan on a full ride but it was in-state tuition..(pretty rare these days) but of course as we know,,,,he left Michigan after one semester and went to work as a vacuum cleaner between two sheets of grass.

Almost impossible to get a 50% to full-ride as a position player. Never happens anymore. Left-Handed pitchers are about the only players that get full-rides anymore in D1. The 25% rule is going to screw everything up.
