Fine academically.

Can't play a "lick" of baseball.

Maine used to be a baseball power about 25 years ago. Vermont is likely to "secede" from baseball playing. (lol) And, what happened to UConn at Arizona State a couple of weeks ago, can't be discussed anywhere you talk about competitive baseball.

Our resident 'Noreaster...TRHit is an expert on all of these programs and I would trust his opinion dramatically more than I would trust mine....All of which was said in jest.

Even if you were just kidding Beenthere, You have got this one backwards. These schools are very average academically but play way better baseball than you would think. Vermont's RPI last year was i think 96 and they had three kids drafted. These are not national power houses, but competitive programs. Vermonts coach is a real class guy. Jack Leggatt from Clemson is an ex- Vermont guy. The main issue is that it is really cold!

While TR Hit will give you more precise and comprehensive information, I have seen several of the U Conn and Vermont players during the summer NECBL season. My view is they have some very very good players who can compete with anyone. My guess is depth will be an issue but their top players are pretty darn good.

The "tongue in cheek cynicism" of BEENTHERE aisde this is my take on the programs in question.

Univ. Of Maine --- one of the stronger teams in the America East Conference-- look for them to make a run for the League Title this year--excellent academically -- nice facility --they are hosting the America East Post Season Tournament this year

UCONN-- new head coach this year though he has been with the program for 12 years or so-- excellent facility-- younger team this year-- could be a contender in the Big East-- fine academic institution

Univ. of Vermont-- another of the stronger programs in the America East Program--they are a contender nearly every year-- fine academics as well

All three programs have fine coaches and staffs-- all take spring trips--- you cannot go wrong at any of the three-- if you are making your choice from these three programs you are in great shape

By the way all three programs have players drafted every year
