My son is a high school Jr. He is a 6'5" 180lb submarine, pitcher only, on his varsity team. He is his team's main closer. His fastball is in the low 80s and he has a wicked, sideways action curveball. His grades are less than stellar(about 2.3 GPA) but improving. He has a huge interest in computers and information technology and does well in his C++, Java and Visual Basic classes. Where should he go to school? We live in the south (Alabama) and would like for him to stay in the south. I'd appreciate any ideas on how we should proceed. What we should be doing now, next, ect. I am a complete novice at this

Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas is a top acdemic school with an up and coming baseball program. There is a new coach there this year, Lane Stahl, who is dedicated to building a very good baseball program. The major need for the program is pitching. Here is a link to the school's computer science department s well as the athletic department.
There are a lot of good "Computer" schools, and for the most part it doesn't matter which one you graduate from. Find a schools that he likes and where he fits in, academically and and baseball.
I am a Software Project Manager and I hire a lot of Programmers and Software Engineers.
What I will say is when I interview a college graduate, I almost never interview one with less then a 3.0 GPA. So my recommendation for you son is to hit the books and hit them hard.
Play every game as if it were your last
